Rev. Jim Hostler, M.Msc. - The OM Coach
In Unity, he would think: if only this tradition would bring in the precision of ontological coaching, it would complete the conversation. In Landmark Education, he would think: if only this work would bring in the depth of spiritual wisdom, it would complete the conversation. Twenty-five years later, he stopped waiting for someone else to complete it.
The OM Spiritual Center is what Jim built. The Metaphysical Bible Journey is what he had always been reaching toward. And the Living Library of Light is the curriculum he wished had existed every time he sat in those rooms and felt the edges of something that had not yet been fully built.

For years, Jim Hostler built a career in mortgage banking, a world of structure, precision, and the disciplined management of complex financial relationships. He was good at it. But running quietly alongside that career, since 2001, was a life of deep and sustained engagement with two things most people would not have thought to put together: the rigorous, embodied discipline of ontological coaching and the metaphysical traditions of Unity and New Thought.
Within months of each other, Jim was introduced to Unity and Landmark Education. Unity drew him to the metaphysical interpretation of scripture and the New Thought framework that made ancient wisdom immediately livable. He also engaged extensively with Landmark Education, one of the most demanding personal and professional development programs in existence, where the ontological question of who you are being was explored with a precision that spiritual communities rarely touched.
In both rooms, he was sitting with the same quiet conviction: that these two worlds were meant to complete each other. The depth of the spiritual tradition needed the precision of the ontological framework. And that the precision of the ontological framework needed the depth of the spiritual tradition. Neither was quite whole without the other.
In the late 2000s, Jim found himself in a metaphysical Bible study class led by the head of education for Unity Worldwide, one of the most influential metaphysical Bible teachers in the movement. The class began with a single story: the Healing of Naaman. A general. A river. And beneath the surface, a precise map of the pride that keeps transformation waiting and the quiet simplicity that finally lets it arrive.
That class planted a seed that would not flower for more than a decade. Today, the Healing of Naaman is the free introductory course in the Living Library of Light, the first teaching Jim offers to anyone discovering the Metaphysical Bible Journey. The thread between that afternoon in the late 2000s and the curriculum that now exists is not a coincidence. It is the kind of coherence that only a life lived in genuine attention produces.
On New Year’s Day 2020, Jim followed his intuition. He had been sitting with the question of coaching, not as a vague aspiration but as a genuine calling that had been forming quietly for years. That morning, he sat down, searched, and within an hour had found the Newfield Network, one of the most rigorous and respected ontological coaching institutions in the world. He enrolled the same day.
What followed was an extensive investment in ontological coaching training, a commitment that does not arise from a passing interest. It happens when someone has spent two decades watching a conversation that has never quite been finished and finally decides they are the one to finish it.
The OM Spiritual Center opened later that year. The Metaphysical Bible Journey followed. And the work Jim had been quietly assembling inside himself for twenty-five years finally had a home.
Jim’s spiritual path has not been confined to books, classrooms, or church circles. Over the years, he has participated in multiple Ayahuasca ceremonies with a Shaman in Peru. Each ceremony was a profound encounter that changed his life in ways he does not try to summarize. The depth of his connection with this medicine is not incidental to his work. It is part of the same thread.
Ayahuasca is not a shortcut. It is not a spiritual experience for the curious. It is a rigorous, ancient, and deeply demanding encounter with consciousness itself, one that strips away the constructed identity and leaves something quieter and truer in its place. For Jim, every ceremony has been both a homecoming and a reckoning. Both have shaped the work.
The wisdom that moves through the Metaphysical Bible Journey, the Living Library of Light, and the OM Spiritual Center draws from many wells. The sacred plant medicine traditions of Peru are among them.
Jim built the OM Spiritual Center for the seeker who has outgrown the surface, who respects the tradition they come from, and yet feels, quietly and persistently, that something essential has not yet been fully reached. If you recognize that feeling, you are in the right place.
